What will you be doing?
· Serve as the primary sustainability subject matter expert (SME) within our company.
· Ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements and certification standards for all trading activities.
· Identify any compliance risks and advise leadership on potential exposure and mitigation
· Conduct sustainability market research where you will be researching and analyzing market trends, policies and regulations to help inform business decisions.
· Build connections with authorities, verification bodies and other organizations active in the voluntary and mandatory environmental commodity markets.
· Ensure valid certification, e.g. ISCC EU, for our company under various (inter)national schemes.
· Implement and maintain our mass balance tracking, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction and carbon intensity calculations, and other relevant systems and tools
· Coordinate internal and external sustainability audits and implement corrective actions based on their findings
· Provide clear mandates to our teams and clients on the sustainability requirements and best practices for business transactions and associated environmental claims.
· Establish and maintain internal processes and procedures, including checklists, roles and responsibilities, for compliance to sustainability requirements in trade executions.
· Support business development activities, including attending meetings with potential clients.
· Increase market presence via attendance of relevant conferences, meetings and industry events.
· Prepare and present collateral for client education and market updates.
· Design and deliver internal training programs to our teams.
· Collaborate, learn, enjoy and work together with other teams.
Job requirements
· Completed a bachelor's degree, preferably in a sustainability field.
· At least 3 years of relevant working experience, ideally in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
· Good understanding of environmental commodity markets and sustainability requirements.
· Fluent English skills.
· Any other language would be a plus.
· Eager, energetic, flexible, curious, and proactive by nature.
· Strong communicative skills, both written and oral.
· Ability to set priorities and manage time independently.
· An eye for detail and not scared of taking accountability.
