As a Junior Risk Officer at AFS Energy you make a direct impact by managing market and credit risks and helping the organization grow in a controlled fashion. This within a young, dynamic and fast-growing team located on the former trading floor of Euronext Amsterdam.

To facilitate this growth AFS is recruiting a highly motivated and ambitious Jr. Risk Officer to join the Risk department and closely collaborating with Front Office and the Management Board. The risk function oversees risks in the domain of credit, market, liquidity and currency, and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Job description
· Your main task will be supporting the monitoring and managing of market, credit and operational risks in the highly dynamic and exciting Renewable Commodities Trading environment.
· You will work closely with the Front office on new trade approvals, perform counterparty credit analysis, manage FX exposure and support adherence to risk policies and requirements.
· You will drive further automation and implementation of risk management tools based on the latest risk concepts.
· You will further professionalize the company in Risk awareness and facilitate transparent risk vs reward discussions.
· You will support projects providing further Business Insights and opportunities for further growth.
· You will report to the Risk Director, accelerating your professional development as a risk expert and setting you up to maximize your impact.
Job requirements
What we expect:
· Master’s degree in (quantitative) Finance, Econometrics, Maths or similar.
· Excellent command of Excel. Coding skills in SQL, Python, VBA and Power BI are a plus.
· Affinity with financials markets, renewable energy, or physical products (e.g. power, gas, fuels).
· 0-3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an international trading environment.
· Hands-on approach and effective communication skills.
· Proactive, analytical, ethical and independent.
· Fluent in English. Any other language is a plus.
